Drunk Upstarts - "Oi! Drunx, Spiky Punx" demo

Grand Rapids MI - '99-'05

The Drunk Upstarts, later Upstarts RF (upstarts reformed, if i remember right...), from Grand Rapids Michigan, had strong ties with the city of Milwaukee (where i live). Their first(?) singer Jeremy has sadly passed away, but their memory is carried on by his friends, and especially by Jeremy's younger brother Gordy. Gordy fronts the current Denver pogopunk band the Bad Engrish, they cover and have recorded Drunk Upstarts songs as tribute. I will write more about this band when i have the time and can write something more informed, as i don't think i even got to see them ( i used to live in Green Bay WI til about '03/'04), and only met Jeremy 2, maybe 3 times. Either way, RIP Jeremy.

Here's Bad Engrish (featuring Jeremy from the Upstarts' younger brother Gordy, on vocals) paying homage to D.U. by covering "Fuck the New Breed", which i think was from the Drunk Upstarts "Gutterside Pisses" demo. If I can remember through all the boozy fog, Bad Engrish cover a few different Upstarts songs in rotation when they play live.
