the Last American was a kinda shitty 2003 indie film about a punk (set in the 80's) trying to sell a couch. It was done over in the twin cities (minneappolis/st. paul). In the trailers it's always advertised as a having a Casualties performance, but if i remember right the actual film shows brief performances by late 90's/early'00s bands Onward to Mayhem & the Subversives.
" "He Sold His Couch for Rock N' Roll..."
Shot on black and white 16mm film with a budget of less than $7,000, THE LAST AMERICAN, was made in true go-for-broke spirit. It was filmed in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a cast of local actors generously donating their time and talent. The three man production crew of Audie Harrison, A.J. Pfeifer, and Peter Browngardt personally financed the movie with credit cards along with a film stock grant awarded by Kodak and whatever loose change they could find lying around. Inspired by the Minneapolis punk scene, the movie's soundtrack boasts several local bands, including ONWARD TO MAYHEM and THE SUBVERSIVES. The result is a offbeat screwball comedy that makes its mark with bold punk rock style!
