Subversives - "Protest & Dance" lp

the Subversives
Minneapolis/St. Paul MN - '95?-'02/'03?

The Subversives are sort of a cult band and the USAs answer to Oxymoron (proper english accent and all), and one of my personal favorites. Being a proper skunk band, they had qualities of uk82 bands, 80's uk oi and not so much u.s. streetpunk, with their own musical take on it - the influences which are shown on the artwork of all their records. That's why i personally liked them  so much (i actually listen to almost 100% 80s oi and uk82 and european punk in my spare time, this blog is just for shits, and it needed to be done- granted it should be done by someone who cares more and is more thorough - but what the fuck, why not). Their oi side is why they had releases on Vulture Rock and Step 1 records, but eventually ended on Charged then disbanded. They have an unreleased  full length album recorded and some people have it on burned cd. Some later members went on to form oi-style streetpunk band the Eightysixed, who have more recently become the popular oi oi band, Victory.
